The cache is located just off Route 66 near the Boundry Cone peak. You will need some ground clearance to make it down the short grade or you can park off the highway and walk down. The cache is within 300 feet of the highway. The cache is a short walk up the side of a hill. Be carefull. The granite can be crumbly and you can lose your footing if you are not paying attention. There is a very nice stand of cholla cactus on the hills around the area.
This area used to contain a cache previously placed by the Starstruk Angelz. That cache was pilfered and not replaced. This is such an interesting area. It really deserves to have a cache. So we placed our first cache here. The location is a little more off the beaten path than before to protect it from incidental discovery.
Have fun exploring the area. There is a well in one of the buildings. Because of the water, you may see quail, burros, or other wildlife. Watch for snakes. I don't have any information on the area. It looks like it could have been a ranch or a mining supply location. One of the structures has 1947 and a name written in the concrete. If anyone has any other information, I would like to hear it. Please drop us an email.
