Geocache Description:

This cache is just off of a busy rural road & shouldn't be attempted in short pants. Unfortunately, these kind of places do breed some small amounts of illegal dumping.

While driving through Vigo County & many other locations for that matter, one might catch a glimpse of one of these in one form or another. It might still be in great shape & easy to recognize like this one & the one just like it to the North a half mile. Or may just appear as an extra bunch of crumbling concrete along the side of some bridge out in the country. These sightings are the remains of what was a booming mode of transportation in our area & others.... the Interurban. The Interurban came to the area in 1890 when the Terre Haute Electric company launched the first car. In 1907 the Indianapolis & Eastern Traction Company took it over & it ran till it's final days in 1931. It connected big & small towns alike & had many stops along the way giving everyone a chance to travel.

You might even recognize Terre Haute's main terminal, it still stands today on Wabash Avenue.

The cache is stocked with what-nots, a White Jeep TB & the FTF gets one of my micro containers.

~WARNING~ Do not anger the guard beavers!!
