Geocache Description:

My daughters remember ignoring the warning signs and walking our golden retriever Bonnie here when they were young. Cache is a micro pill bottle, at the base of a tree in a wooded area which affords a great view of Ross Bay. There is a virtual nearby and a River of Oak just down the road. This cache was originally hidden as part of the Coin Quest game.

The above coordinates, which have a certain repetitiveness to them, will put you roughly in the middle of Ross Bay cemetery. Some of Victoria's original pioneers and historical figures are buried here. Tours are available.

Now assume the earth is flat, and project a waypoint 42m West and 81m South and go there. There is a lot of chiseled stone around, but back when I hid the cache the new waypoint would put you at a statue with an impressive bit of sculpted concrete on the wing. It always freaked Bonnie out when we walked past. Posted logs and a maintenance visit in March 2013 indicates the big bird sculpture is gone. Too bad, but the projection should work anyways, so carry on!

From where the sculpted bird used to be, project a waypoint 36m back to the East and 12m further south. You should now be in the wooded area. The cache is hidden at the base of a tree under bark and light debris. You can peek through the trees to the view from here. Watch for muggles, this is a popular walking place. The cache was muggled in summer 2015 and I replaced it in October 2015.

Please replace as you found it and make sure it is covered.
