While it is a little too cold for your standard
type geomeet, there's no reason why we can't get together for
a little socializing anyway. Why not cross the bridges, log a
few caches (there are almost 70 on the Island!), and then warm
up with some beer and chicken wings. Jan 15th is the Sunday
before MLK Day. We'll meet from 5pm-8pm, but there's no reason
why you can't stay later.
Because I am a bit lazy, and will be very busy the next 10 days,
and because I am sure people would rather socialize than listen to
me talk, I have a very short "game" list.
I have a few trivia questions with prizes (including tinkets
from Hawaii!) for the correct answers. I will also raffle off a
complete, ready to hide cache, complete with unregistered TB tag.
If you wish to contribute a small "trade item" to be given away, it
would be welcomed. I will also be releasing into the wild a unique
trackable item via a raffle (it has its own cool icon!).
***** UPDATE *****
I have in my hands a super cool new GeoCoin that everyone will
be able to log, with the potential for a cool prize later this
year.
***** UPDATE *****
There will be a TB swap table as well, so bring those travellers
you've held on to too long, or that are looking to travel somewhere
you're not.
Coddington
Brewery is a micro-brewery in Middletown, which is easy to get
to from all directions. They have several standard brews, as well
as seasonal choices. Their menu is large and varied. I highly
recommend the turkey pot pie and fish & chips.
It looks like I will order up a couple of plates of appetizers
(with a collection piggie bank) for those who wish, and then
everyone will order their own food and drink off of the menu.
And be sure to check out the new, relatively close, puzzle cache
WaldenRun has placed,
Easy As Pie.
I'd like to ask a favor of attendees. Please don't place any
"virtual" TBs or Coins (ones that will not actually leave the hands
of the owner) in the Event. If you want to share numbers, please
use other means. I'm asking this becuase I wuld rather not get
dozens of emails as people retrieve and drop off the bugs - I get
enough as it is. Thank you.
