To get to the cache we suggest parking on the designated area on
the Harden Road (53 50.219 001 52.090) and then following the
public footpath signs along part of the Bradford Circular Walk.
Continue along past the farm and across the fields until you come
to a small wooden gate. Turn left after going through the gate and
follow a narrow road past a row of cottages. Shortly after that you
will arrive at a fork in the path. Take the right fork and you
should see a chimney type structure. Continue to follow the path
until you arrive at a small bridge which crosses a stream. The
cache is quite close now.
This is a very quiet peaceful area, and the only sounds you
should hear are the birds singing and the sound of the stream
meandering on its way, hence the title.
You don't need an ology in ornith to appreciate the wide variety
of bird life that you may be lucky enough to see during the walk.
We have seen a woodpecker, longtailed tits, blue and great tits,
wrens, greenfinches and even a tiny goldcrest. We also saw dippers
on the stream.
The cache is a smallish snaplock container with a log book and
pencil plus the usual trade items, and your GPS should get you
close to the target. There are trees along the way and, should you
lose the signal, keep going and it should return. Parts of the walk
may well be boggy so please wear suitable footwear. Not really
suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
We do hope that you take your time with this one, and not whizz
forward with head down glaring at the GPS. It should be even more
scenic in summer.
