Write and Mane: Looks like everyone who wants to has logged their attendance and all TBs and coins have vacated the event, so it's time to close down.

Geocache Description:

Geocachers meeting at The Ffynnon Wen, Thornhill Road, Cardiff on Wednesday 18th January 2006. An informal get-together for local cachers (but anyone from further afield will be welcome).

The Ffynnon Wen has had a make-over since the informal gathering of cachers in November. For those that don’t know it, Thornhill Road is the main road from Cardiff to Caerphilly and the pub is almost directly opposite the Crematorium (not that we are advocating combining visits to both venues). There is a large car park.
The event will start at 7.00 p.m. and go on as long as anyone wants it to or to closing time, whichever arrives first.
Apart from a segregated area at the rear of the pub, we have not arranged anything else. The pub does meals, so people can make individual choices about whether to eat while they are there. On the menu there are Starters at about £3, Main Courses £7-£11 (on a 2 for 1 basis, with about 25 meals on the standard menu plus specials) and distinctly unhealthy puddings at around £3. There are vegetarian options for all courses.
However, if some are eating and some not, it could be disruptive to the main purpose of the evening, so we would suggest that the first hour or so is allocated solely to socialising and that any who want to eat plan this for 8.00 p.m. onwards. Children are welcome.
To give The Ffynnon Wen an idea of numbers for food, it would help if you indicate an intention to eat, when posting notes to indicate attendance.
The evening will be an opportunity to help Travel Bugs on their way, especially if anyone is off to an exotic destination in the near future. If you intend to bring a TB or two, include details of the Bug and its objective in your note. If you can help a bug on the way to its objective note this also. If you do pass on a TB on the evening, make sure that you keep a note of its number and who you pass it to, so that logs can be kept up to date and the TB’s owner knows where it is.
The opportunity will also be taken to update details of the April 06 Event at Parc Cwm Darran, pick up fresh ideas and to try to sort out a few tasks for “volunteers”.
Why the title for this Event? We thought that 2½ weeks into the year was ample for most people to have broken their New Year’s Resolutions, so here is an opportunity to receive commiserations. Don’t feel excluded if you are still keeping yours – come and gloat! If you want to feel really special, you can break your resolution during the evening … provided that it doesn’t get us all thrown out of the pub! Feel free to bear your souls on the website, with details of your resolutions and the circumstances of failure (if decency allows).
We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible on 18th January. So that we don’t spend all evening on introductions, it might help if everyone wears a name badge giving their first name and geocaching nickname.
