This is a micro cache (no room for trading items) on a section of the Grand River Trail system that doesn’t seem to get a lot of use although it is quite a nice hike.
The above coordinates are for the trailhead. Parking is along the side of the road where ever you feel it is safe to do so. I parked up near the top of the hill, on the west side of the trailhead and on the north side of the road. The hike is less than a kilometer in from the road following the blazes on the trees. The trail heads up to the left as soon as you leave the road. You will see a Grand River Trail sign. Follow the blazes on the trees. The trail can be steep and will be slippery with snow on it as the trail traverses a steep hill in spots. The trail comes out to a clearing at N43°17.232' W80°21.772' so look for stakes with the white blazes on them and remember this on the way back. If you continue north past the cache and follow the markers you will come out on the south end of Sudden Tract where there are a couple of more caches. You can come from the north as well but the hike is longer and not quite as nice.
To find the cache coordinates you will have to solve the Sudoku puzzle first. My daughter and I have been doing these lately and I thought it would be fun to hide cache coordinates in the puzzle. To solve the puzzle you must fill in the missing numbers so that each row, column and 3X3 square contains each number from 1 to 9. You can’t repeat the number in any row column or square. Once you have the puzzle complete, fill in the coordinates using the locations supplied. Example C3 would be 7. Since there are no zeros allowed in the puzzle, I filled them in.
