This is a cache located close to Highway 9 on your way to Zion. It is a micro so bring your own pen.
I don't know if this road was part of Nephi Johnson's original path to Virgin in the early 1900's, but it is a great spot to see the workmanship of our earliest settlers. The cache is located in an old culvert made from rock. There are a couple roads leading to the cache. One will take you within feet and the other is about a tenth away. Enjoy the search and don't come if its raining.

Here is some great history provided by Shuntavi on the builders of this road.
"The old Nephi's Twist started in Toquerville and crossed La Verkin Creek around the present day Cholla Creek Subdivision. It then followed a wash in which the Washington County Water Conservency District has since run a pipeline. The road went up the wash and then up a steep cut in the hillside and you come out on top close to the current shooting range.
My understanding is that the old road that parallels the new road and then snakes up the hill by the new green water tank is a road built back in the 1900's by the CCC Boys. The CCC boys did many projects in S. Utah. very interesting history.
There is the old Lime Kiln in that area that was built by the pioneers.
This is my understanding of the local history. I may not be completly accurate but this is what I have been told by some old timers."
Thanks for the great info.!
