the cache is an ammo can hidden in the southern part of the spenceville wildlife area. park at the east end of waldo road and hike east. after three-tenths of a mile, take the trail to the south. the last three hundred feet of your journey is rather steep, and there is poison oak in the area.
the cache is named after jack london's well-known novel, "the call of the wild," which was published in 1903. the book is about a dog named buck. when buck's owner is killed, buck returns to the wild and is forced to survive and adapt to brutal and cruel conditions. fortunately, our dogs today live a much more comfortable life. some dogs, such as molly and calico, are even allowed to partake in the joys of geocaching...
