Mt. Si Seen from the Cache Site
When I archived the old Three Forks cache, I was certain that
someone would snap up this gorgeous location for their own. I was
surprised when, after almost a year had passed, no one did, so I
hid my own replacement while out in the area today.
The cache is located in the 418-acre Three Forks Natural Area
located at the confluence of the North Fork, Middle Fork, and South
Fork of the Snoqualmie River. It is hidden near a bend in the
river, just a very short stroll from the road. Mt. Si looms to the
southeast, and the water gurgles past pleasantly. Parking is not a
problem; just park in the wide spot on the gravelled shoulder of
the road.
Best of all, bring a lunch, a snack, or a thermos filled with
something nice to drink, and enjoy a little picnic while sitting on
the rock retaining wall (a recent addition to this spot). The view
is stellar, and this is a great spot to get a little recharge!
The container is a small plastic Lock-n-Lock container. Please
be sure to rehide it well so that it doesn't disappear like the
previous cache did!
