Geocache Description:

Come and see the seals at Duiker Island up close and personal - bring nose plugs!

There are 2 routes to the cache:
1 is from the top of the Hout Bay fishing village, over the nek, and down to seal island - I have not done this route, but recommend the coastal route - although you could do both routes in one go if you want a change of scenery.

Coastal route: Park at the end of Hout Bay harbour, and walk along the coast, around the Sentinel:

S 34° 03.326
E 018° 20.862

The first part of this walk is a bit dodgy, through an area in heavy need of a CITO event.
Allow for about 1.5 hours tound trip at the least - I have also heard that the route gets blocked at high tide, so try do at lowish tide.
Although the walk is not strenuous, there is a bit of scrambling on rocks and thin paths along cliff ledges - dogs are welcome, but there was one tricky section that I had to carry my intrepid Sally up.

From cache site, head out to the beacon on the rocky outcrop, and enjoy the view of the seals frolicking in the sea and tanning themselves on the rocks!

Note: This area is pretty secluded, and there are sometimes some fishermen or folks from the harbour hanging out in the area. I would thus suggest that you go in a group for safety reasons. I havent heard of any issues here, but better safe than sorry
