Geocache Description:

The cache is located along a short side trail off the white blazed Paumanok Path. It is a continuation of the series of trail caches named for mythical creatures and Folklore. As with all my caches PLEASE LEAVE NO TRACE

The HOOPAJUBA is similar to the Whiffle-poofle. It is a fish that very few people have caught. If you want to catch one you need to follow these simple directions.

1) Row to the center of a deep lake.
2) Drill a hole in the bottom of the lake, for that is where the HOOPAJUBA lives.
3) Row back to shore and hide.
4) Make a sound like a mudworm since that is what HOOPAJUBAS like to eat the most.
5) Then wait quietly.

When a HOOPAJUBA hears the sound of a mudworm, it will swim as fast as it can to the beach. then it will put its tail in its mouth and roll towards the worm, which is to say toward you. When it gets close enough stick your hand through the hoop and drop the fish in your fishing basket.
