This cache is located on a newly created trail on land owned by Ohio University. The hike is a half mile in each direction.
The Ridges is located across the Hocking River from the main campus. It was once a state hospital but closed around 1970. The path is a link between cemeteries which are worth visiting as a side trip. Along the way are views of the Dairy Barn, a cultural arts center.
Parking is located nearby, use the ballfield lot. Parking anywhere else could earn you a $20 ticket during business hours.
The posted coordinates take you to a metal tag with the minutes for the next leg. The top number is North latitude and the bottom number is West longitude. The second leg also has a metal tag that takes you to the final ammo box. All three coordinates are along the trail; thanks to the Ohio grounds crew for their fine efforts.
Cache contains some metal plaques which you may trade for. Hope you enjoy. Go Bobcats!
