Geocache Description:

This cache takes you to the high ground to the north of Airdrie and is around 2km round trip. Most of the terrain is easily covered on foot or by bike, but the cache itself requires a head for heights as it is located in a disused quarry. The climb is not overly difficult, however for safety climbing equipment is recommended. If you are not happy with climbing you may wish to avoid this cache, or bring along someone who will climb for you.

This area was used by my friends and I as youngsters especially in the summer months as the holidays meant longer walks were possible. We spent many hours climbing in the abandoned quarry, seemingly dicing with death, while no more than 20ft off the ground. Which is where you will find the first part of this two part cache. The first cache is a micro cache and involves a short climb, where you will retrieve the location and clue for the second cache, a small container which contains: Logbook Pen. Condition are very muddy enroute to the main cache, so wear boots, and for the climb I would recommend that you take someone with you for safety.
