Watch out for gully breezes!!
According to The Paddocks Beneath, A history of Burnside, this valley was settled in 1850 for a herd of dairy cattle, known as the Stonyfell cows. The ruins of the original stone house lie just behind the pistol club.
The cache can be accessed from both east and west. Miraculously the cache lies at the approximate mid point of access. The trail is not marked, but is recorded in one of the local Adelaide walking books. Apparently the gully trail and the coach road is a favorite fun 4 hour loop.
The trail scenery changes from European influences to tall gums at the head of the valley. There is plenty of bird life and lots of wildflowers. You will possibly have to battle the profusion of blackberries in certain parts. So maybe carry your collecting bucket in the correct season.
Allow an hour for the cache. Sat vision maybe problematic depending on orbits. Take your time, enjoy the scenery. Good Hunting.
