Has-Been Station-2 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

drag&monk48: Well, what can I say. The team of drag&monk48 no longer exists and there are no TB's in here right now so I'm pulling the plug on it. Thanks to all who hunted and shared with the geocahing community.

Geocache Description:

Off exit 119A traveling I-40 east or exit 119 west. Take a right if approaching in an easterly direction and a left if by west. Plenty of parking and low muggle problems.

This is another of what could turn out to be a series of caches dedicated to Has-Been Stations. They seem to be everywhere these days, yet un-noticed. I wonder if the gas prices forced them to close there doors or bad locations? Perhaps the mega-super-center-style- food-court-coffee-doughnuts-mountain-of-beer-wall-of-soda-yellow-jackets-20-gas-pumps we use now with dudes running them that sound and act funny. I get a feeling of nostalgia when I see one of these older style gas stations with there Jetsonesque space age awnings, just having drivers licences and thinking "Man I have 5 dollars to put in the tank...that will last for days"! Or better yet, one of those older ones where you can see a lot of plumbing and small islands, grease pits and good old bricks, Daddy saying "Filler up, and while you're at it, check the oil"! Pull right up, remember and hunt a cache! This one is very simple. I've studied this spot for a long time, actually took notice of it about ten years ago when I came to work in Hickory. Really wanted to make a challenge out of it but the place is all fenced in and there was little to use for a unique hide. So, here is a grab and go right beside the road with easy access and low muggles. As a matter of fact, I've seen more than one person wondering around looking lost and aimless here! The cache is a coffee can I weezed from work and has a number of handy little items in it for trading. This cache could also be an excellent Travel Bug Motel, considering the easy access to I-40. Hope you enjoy it and as always CITO.
