Welcome to phase #1 of the Hopkins Ridge Wind Project located
northeast of Dayton. The project consists of 83 turbines spread out
on 11,000 acres. When all 83 turbines are running at peak capacity,
they can generate 150 megawatts of electricity -- enough energy on
an average basis to supply about 50,000 homes.
Future phases will have the project extend south to Patit Rd in
the next few years.
Quick Facts:
*Total height is around 335' at the rotor's verticle tip and are
70' taller than the turbines at the Stateline Windfarm west of
Walla Walla.
*These can produce .2 megawatts more electricity than the
Stateline models.
*Each of the 3 rotors is 129' long for a total diameter of
262'.
*Each turbine assembly was shipped in 8 sections.
*93 miles of underground cable link the windmills to the
substation.
*There is 18 miles of service roads.
*The entire project is owned by Puget Sound
Energy.
