Its just off of Rt. 295 at the Scenic Overlook
People stop here to go fishing or just take a break from driving,
among other things. The original "Is It Really Scenic?" was on the
northbound side of the highway; an area that really started to
freak people out because they saw things that they didn't expect...
funny thing is that I never saw any of these activities, just alot
of trash. When the cache disappeared in 12/05, I decided not to
replace it. Instead I placed this micro on the riverside of the
overlook.
The overlook was put in to satisfy the demands placed on NJDOT
by the D&R Canal Commission. D&R canal commission has final
review of any project near the D&R Canal. The part of river
that you might see if you go to the other side is the conflunce of
the Canal, Crosswicks Creek and the Delaware River. This is
actually the remaints of Lock No.1 of the D&R canal. Another
example of this is the foot bridge over US 1 in Lawrenceville. If
you would like to see a restored 1830's lock go to Boyde Park in
New Brunswick.
Now just let me know, could it be really scenic?
