Geocache Description:

Off a nice trail to a nice dam for fishing. You will have to get off the trail a little ways and go through a little brush.

This cache is located near the Neosho River, there is an old dam that is interesting. You can see the remenants of what appears to be the original bridge over the river. The current bridge is at least the fourth that has been there and was opened in the summer of 2005. There may be posion ivy in the summer!

Across the river, you can see the water intake structure for the city of Emporia.

This area will flood when the river rises in the spring, it will often be over the dam where it is not visible and has been up to the bottom of the bridge and up to the water intake structure.

Take a look around and maybe drop a line in and see what the locals are catching.

The cache started with a travel bug we brought from DC, a log book and some misc fun things to trade.
