How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Please park vehicle in school parking lot at the following coordinates: Lat. 41-51.202, Long. 89-29.714 N (located south of goat pasture).

On February 6, 1984, President Ronald Reagan came to Dixon to celebrate his 73rd birthday. The President’s helicopter used this area to “land and take off” for the Presidents next stop. You will want to use this parking lot behind the school to begin your Cache hunt. All you need to do is head for the woods. There are trails in the area that are a little camouflaged with natures growth. Take your time and scout the location out with your geocaching information.

The cache container is an ammo box and is camouflage by its original military color. It contains a card with geocaching information and a logbook. It has several items that are useful to the finder. This ammo box had a small broom, hammer, and several key chain items in it. You even may want to add to the list.
