This cache is located near the top of a maintained sledding hill, near the Andes Prairie Snow Park. A short, uphill walk of about .25 mile is required.
Each year at Christmas time we make an outing to the mountains to do some sledding. As the Walla Walla Valley offers very few “white Christmas’”, we’ve got to head to the hills to get our dose of the white stuff. If you come here between Dec 1 and April 1, bring a sled and take a ride and, as the name says, Hang On Tight!
From Weston, travel south of Tollgate, past Spout Springs Ski Resort, to the summit of the Blue Mountains. The Snow Park is located at 45.42.118 N, 118.02.022 W. There is lots of parking and bathroom facilities. A Snow Park permit is required during winter months. Follow the coordinates to the top of the sledding hill. The cache is a plastic container with a small assortment of typical cache goodies. During periods of very heavy snow cover, it may be difficult to locate, but under normal, or average, conditions should be fairly easy to find. If the hill is populated with lots of sledders, be watchful of muggle-eyes! Summertime visitors should find a very quite place to contemplate a future ride!
Have fun!
