Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The co-ordinates given are not for the cache itself. They are for the first location you will need to visit in order to collect information ultimately giving the cache co-ordinates. Limited, free roadside parking is available at N 51 34.467 W 000 20.075 and more, metered parking is available back down the hill towards Harrow town centre. The cache is sited on a circular walk which takes you up, down and around Harrow Hill. Parts of the walk take you across Harrow School playing fields but all of it, including the cache, is accessible on public rights of way. In places the hill is quite steep but the trail remains walkable.
As you proceed up the hill to the first location, you will pass a statue of Queen Elizabeth I, who granted Harrow School its royal charter. Walk past the statue and then double back up the hill to St Mary's Church on the top. At the first location, turn your back on the view to find a marble tablet bearing a poem by Lord Byron who attended school at Harrow. Be careful not to confuse this with the metal plaque commemorating Byron's school days. Note the first two digits on the marble tablet as 'A' and 'B'.
Go back through the churchyard and locate a smaller tablet low down and to the right of the church door. This is in memory of Byron's daughter, Allegra, who is buried at an unmarked location in the churchyard. Note the age at which she died as 'C'.
As you leave the churchyard turn left and take the path down to Grove Hill. This sets you off in the right direction for the next location you will need:
N 51 34.524 W 000 19.997
You will find a footpath sign which indicates the direction you must take in more ways than one. Count the number of letters in the fourth word and note this as 'D'.
The cache is located at:
N 51 34.(C-1)D8 W 000 AB.DC6
Please make sure that you close the container securely by 'clicking' down all four corners. That way you will keep the water out of the babies (ie keep the contents dry).
