Geocache Description:

These coordinates are not the one of the cache but the one of the trail head leading to the cache.

This cache is a small cache, a one liter bottle with a 2 inch opener. So don't bring big things to trade.

2/15/14 Update: The cache is now a small pill bottle with only room for a log. Bring your own pen

It is located close to the end of the trail. So you will have to go the whole way, a 2.5 mi round trip. It can be done in mountain bike though (except for one small rocky section). Nothing hard about this cache but you will just have to take 3 waypoints on the way to figure out the exact coordinates.

The best place to park is at the Trailhead Park parking lot at N30 26.322 W97 49.319.

First, from the above coordinates there is a paved section that finishes where 2 benches are located. Take a way point. It should be something like:
N 30 26.AXX - Note the value of A
W97 48.BXX – Note the value of B

Then continue past the benches, there is a 100 ft section that requires going through a short steep rocky trail; the rest of the hike is flat along a Bull Creek tributary. Stay on the main trail.

About half a mile after the rocky section, the path will cross the creek a first time with a wooden bridge. (Update 9/11/10: The bridge has been displaced by Tropical Storm Hermine. It is now on the side about 30 feet down stream. You will have to cross the stream on rocks). Take a way point. It should be something like:
N 30 25.CXX - Note the value of C
W97 48.DXX - Note the value of D

Not too long after that, the trail crosses the creek again with a second wooden bridge. Take a way point. It should be something like:
N 30 25.EXX - Note the value of E
W97 48.FXX - Note the value of F

The cache is only 800 feet away and you can now build the final coordinates:
N 30 25. (B-A) (C-A) (B-D)
W97 48. (B) (D-C) (E-A)

The cache is close to the trail.

On the way back, you should visit Trailhead Horse Cache, you will be passing right by it.

Have fun, enjoy the trail and but as always in Texas don't cross the creek if storms are in the area. This cache is not recommended at night – coyottes are common in the area.
