Highway Haven Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

just travelling: After a couple of No Finds I checked on my cache the other day and someone has taken the large ammo container! Not very happy as my cache had been there for quite a number of years and had survived being found by the local Friends of the Escarpment Parks group of workers and they liked the idea as it bought people to the park. It looks like the council have been working in the area, so who knows, maybe they weren't happy.

Thanks to everyone who found this cache whilst it was there.

This area is now free for someone else to place a cache.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in a park on the Toowoomba Range.

This area is a bit of a surprise for visitors. The local council have done some work here in the past few years and when the grass is mowed it looks quite pretty. There is a small picnic ground with tables and barbeques even a toilet. The Gatton Creek runs through here, at least it does when there has been some rain.

An 8km circuit walk winds it way around the park but it is a bit challenging on the uphill sections. There are three entrances to this park and the cache is located near the eastern most one. By doing a car shuffle you can even walk from Picnic Point to here. If you would like more information on doing this contact me.

The cache itself is an Ammo Box and is not far off the track.
