This is the third in the Islands of Aloha Series. A standard size cache in Scott County Park loaded with Hawaiian-type goodies to start it off. Do not use the coordinates above for this cache - get your clues from the puzzle.
Note: Effective 4/17/2015, You no longer need to write down coordinate clues from inside the top lid of the cache (if any exist). They are no longer used to find the Islands of Aloha cache #5.
Print out the crossword puzzle and solve the following clues:
Across
2. Real name of the "Valley Isle."
15. City which is famed old-time whaling port on this island.
24. Hawaiian word for "family."
Down
7. Hawaiian word that means hello, goodbye, love.
9. Airport city on this island.
16. Each Hawaiian island was formed by at least one of these.
20. Crop used for beverage grown here, as well as in Kona area of the Big Island.
To find this cache's location, change the last numbers as specified in each, following the procedure below:
Take #9 Down and assign a number value to each letter according to its place in the HAWAIIAN alphabet (A=1,E=2,H=3,etc.). Add the letters together, multiply by 15, and then add 30 to that number to get the 3-digit number you need for the last 3 North coords of N41 42.___.
Take your result above and subtract 33 from it to get the 3-digit number you need for the last 3 West coords of W090 31.___.
