Join us at Big Cypress National Preserve
for a camping geocaching event! Big Cypress National Preserve
is home to numerious endangered species as well as other
flora and fauna that uniquely identifies South Florida. This
2,400 square mile park provides a wonderful habitat and
inviting setting to a camping event. The focus of this event
is to meet fellow geocachers and share geocaching past,
present, and future.
It's
time again for a SeaAggies event...
Campin' in the 'Glades
II!!!
We had so much fun
last year we decided to do it all over again! This multi-staged
event will be held in Big
Cypress National Preserve on February 18th and 19th, but we
aren't telling you the campground. Following the coordinates will
take you to the correct campground. The campground can easily be
driven to by any vehicle. There is a very nice dirt road the entire
way. All stages will be picked up at the end of the weekend to
avoid leaving litter.
We have several things planned for the event:
-Texas (Aggie) Hold 'Em Poker Mutli-cache (Begins Saturday @
14:00)
-A Team Three Leg Multi-cache (Sunday morning)
-Travel Bug Trade during Saturday evening campfire
FOOD: Apple cobbler made by Chef Chris and what's even better is
there will be a S'more Breakfast!
Last year we signed a
which we will bring to share, but we will also have the Log II, so
get your dremel hands ready!
For the kid's there will be a Valentine Egg Hunt on Saturday after
the Poker Run.

There will be a campfire at night if permitted at the campsite and
we will provide marshmallows. Please bring your own food and
drinks.
We plan on putting out a few caches outside of
Big Cypress to go with the caches that are already in existance.
There are some really neat ones out there and we encourage everyone
to grab some and see the beautiful Everglades area.
For the adventurous the nearby Turner River offers a wonderful
scenic kayak or canoe ride. Loop Road is also a must see as well as
some of the trails off of Turner River Road.

There are alligators and plenty of wading birds to take pictures
of this time of year.
We will be out there early in the a.m. on Saturday so come as
early as you please. The Texas Hold 'Em Poker cache will begin at
2pm, so if you plan on participating arrive before then.
Camping is primitive. There ARE formal restrooms (port o potties
last year) and no water available.
We'll continue updating as new information becomes available. :)
Look forward to meeting new folks and see some friendly
faces!
