The Giant Caves of Vasquez Rocks Traditional Cache
Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Park at very East.to the left end of Vasquez Park where the road block is and the large park sign "hours" are located..take the large road/trail(Pacific Crest) to the left about 1/2 mile then at the wooden Pacific Crest Trail sign go left down the small unmarked trail down into the bottom of the canyon about 1/4 mile.easy walk down..up a challenge..but beautiful and worth it nontheless.Rain may force start at main entrance
"I believe we were unjustly and wrongly deprived of the social rights that belonged to us . . . Given $60,000 I would be able to recruit enough arms and men to revolutionize Southern California."
---------- Tiburcio Vasquez, bandito,(who used these hills, rock structures to hide, until the rope was his fate)--------- Be the first to find and claim one of many quality and fun items.. Example, John Foggerty best of CD, puka shell necklace, Tazmanian Devil doll of looney tunes fame...remember to try to trade of equal or better value..cash is OK .....This area was once a major river and the walls of the canyon are obvious.....Come here after a major rain and be intertained with wonderful waterfalls or come after it snows and you won't believe your eyes the beauty of this magnificent place will be self-evident!!..Crossing the stream could be a challenge at some times of the year though to get to the bounty...wear shoes to get wet...This place comes alive in winter. It is a mini-Grand Canyon adventure!!! When you get to the cache if you want follow the stream downwards to the trail back up to the large trail on top..A nice loop for different scenery..I highly recommend doing that ... This area is the less traveled area of the Park not very well-known many locals with their horses will be found.......Most people do not venture too far away from the main attraction rock structure...Too bad for them and good for you!!
