King of the Castle Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

nightelf: We couldnt find this one either. Think it has been muggled as there was ample evidence of drinking in the area. I don't think we'll replace this one.

Geocache Description:

This trail system runs along Cedar Mountain Ridge and this will bring you to a scenic(Suburbia!) overlook. It is a short but steep hike in places that eventually levels out.

Sewmama and I always talked about putting a castle up here for the great view. The trailhead is located at N41'41.996 and 072'42.762W near a watertower. The trail system is called the Old Cedar Mountain Highway Nature Trail. If fact, there are several trails up here. After the initial steep part take the trail to the left for the scenic overlook and continue onto the cache. The cache is located in an ammo can about 50 feet from one trail and closer to another. Do not park on Rte 175-take the first left near the bottom of the hill to access the road that goes beneath Rte 175. There are a few decoys to make it a challenge. Please rehide well as this place sees alot of traffic in the warmer months. Enjoy!!
Sewmama pointed out that we did not get good GPS reads due to the tree cover. The closest we got was 23 feet. If theres alot of snow you may have to dig alitle to expose it. Again, please rehide well so folks can have the thrill of the hunt-Thanks
