Geocache Description:

Our sister cache to the Steep Rock Rail Road Tunnel

This Letterbox Hybrid is dedicated to raising awareness of the Conecticut Coyote

ABOVE ALL DO NOT EVER ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN, PETS OR YOURSELVES TO ENGAGE IN ANY CONTACT WITH A WILD COYOTE. THEY ARE WILD ANIMALS AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS.

HONEY WOLVES ARE VERY SPECIAL ANIMALS THAT CAN INTERACT WITH ANY WILD ANIMAL WITHOUT FEAR OF ATTACK -

The Honey Wolves have always befriended the local Coyote Population. As a puppy - baby Jaime would frequently play with a local Coyote we called by the name of Casey.

Other members of Casey's family would stop by our yard and also play with Katie, Jaime and now Lucy. One of our favorites is Casey's Alpha male boyfriend named Wiley (pictured with Jaime below)

Coyotes play an important role in the Connecticut eco system and help control pest rodent populations because they will hunt and eat mice, woodchucks, moles and other pests.

Coyotes are normally very timid and very averse to humans.
However Coyotes must be respected as wild animals and are potentially VERY DANGEROUS! to people and other animals.

The Connecticut DEP allows unlimited hunting of Coyotes essentially during the entire year.

There have been several reports of Coyote attacks in this region recently.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS A LETTERBOX HYBRID - THE STAMP AND INK PAD ARE NOT TRADE ITEMS SO PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OR TRADE THEM

ALSO - THIS IS A DESIGNATED MILESTONE CACHE WHICH MEANS, UNDER THE INTERNATIONAL CACHING REGULATIONS, IF YOU LOG THIS AS ANY 100 UNIT INCREMENT MILESTONE YOUR NAME WILL BE ADDED TO THE CACHE PAGE

Jaime and her Friend Wiley the Coyote- notice how timid and submissive he is even with Jaime, a Honey Wolf, the most non agressive of all animals.

Jaime as a puppy walking with Casey the Coyote. If Jaime was an ordinary puppy, and not a Honey Wolf puppy, she would likely become a lunch for a wild coyote like Casey.

Jaime and her friend Wiley get along quite well -because all wild animals love the Honey Wolves and are drawn to them- however, we must insist, that UNLESS YOU ARE A HONEY WOLF DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENGAGE THE WILD COYOTES - THEY ARE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!

FTF is 3 scratch tickets and Keith Wilkens secret to health and happiness. If Keith is FTF then he just gets the 3 scratch tickets.

ALSO - BE ADVISED - THERE APPEARS TO BE THE DEN OF A BEAR OR A COYOTE AT N 41.36.351 w 073 19.947
