Geocache Description:

This multiple multi-cache series is a variation on the popular TV Show. It will lead you to a number of spots around Halifax.

You can log each of the three caches individually or all at once but you will need to complete the legs in sequence in order to move on.

This is the second leg of the Halifax Amazing Race. You will need to have completed the first leg in order to find the clue that allows you to start the second leg of the race.

Teams must provide their own means of transportation and GPS unit; (a camera crew is optional). Teams will not receive any additional money for this leg of the race.

The listed co-ordinates are for the parking area in the Dingle Park near the destination cache for the first leg of the race. Inside the destination cache for the first leg of the race will be two sets of co-ordinates for the following Detour.

Detour: A choice between two different ways to accomplish a goal or reach a destination. Each way has its own pros and cons. On the surface, one may seem easy but involves some sort of twist; the other may seem difficult but in the end may be the quicker choice.

Detour: Rocks or Trees Teams must drive themselves to Hemlock Ravine Park and complete one of two tasks familiar to local cachers; Rocks or Trees.

In Rocks, teams must search a large pile of rocks and boulders to find a small camouflaged container containing the next clue. Satellite reception will be good (4m EPE at the time of placement) but finding a little film canister in all those rocks could be frustrating and take a while.

In Trees, teams must search for a small camouflaged container about 2m above the ground containing the next clue. If you can think like a woodpecker, the container should be easy to find but poor satellite reception (13m EPE at the time of placement) may slow down the search.

For both tasks, the 'clue-box' will have the co-ordinates for the destination cache for the second leg of the race (for a hint, think 'bungee tree'). This cache will have a log book for teams to record the completion of the second leg of the race. The cache will also have clues that allow teams to start the final leg of Race.

For the enjoyment of other teams following you, please take a moment to rehide the caches a little better and in the exact same spots you found them in.

The theme for trading items in this cache is postcards etc. from other places.
