Night Caching: Lost Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Marko Ramius: Since there does not appear to have been any response to the logs posted to this cache page, I can only assume that the cache owner is either MIA or is not willing or able to perform normal maintenance on this listing. Accordingly, I am archiving the listing to remove it from search pages and to allow for new caches in this area. If you would like to correct the issues for this cache, you can either create a new cache page or send me an e-mail with the GCxxxx code for this cache listing and I will un-archive it and review it again.

Thank you for your understanding and for your contributions to Geocaching.

Geocache Description:

My name is Ishmael!

I cannot explain how I got here, but I need your help. PLEASE RESCUE ME!

We were sailing roughly due West, off a current known as both the Tippecanoe and the Anderson current. At the coordinates mentioned above- N 34. 04.270 by W 117 15.705, our freighter was attacked by a light. It was an amber light that flew down from the sky. From there our ship was dragged by mysterious forces. All we saw was occasional bright lights up above us, pulling us like an invisible force.

Then there was nothing but flat smooth ocean. But that did not last long. The lights showed in the sky again, pulling us forward and turning over our ship. At last, there were two lights close together. I looked around and found something that bobbed in the water, so I grabbed it and I am still holding on. I can see six red searchlights off in the horizon. They are searching for me, but I will not go near them. Stay out of their reach if you are coming to rescue me.

Come find me. Bring a pen and some patience.

Congratulations to BirdCachers who chartered a speedboat to find the cache just 3 degrees above the equator. Great work!
