"The Silverlink" Traditional Cache
burdair_3: We are unable to do anything about the amount of grass that can grow in the area around GZ and we understand that cachers are concerned about bumping into snakes so we have decided to archive this cache.

Affectionately know as "The Silverlink" by locals the Burdekin River Bridge is a definite feature worth stopping to have a look at.
The impressive structure that took a massive 42,000 cubic metres of concrete and 10,000 tonnes of stell to build lays claim to being the longest bridge of its type in the Southern Hemisphere.
You will certainly appreciate the size of the bridge more if you take a walk along the pedestrian walkway this will also give you the oppurtunity to take some spectacular photos.
The dirt road on the eastern side will lead you to a number of shady trees which would be an ideal spot for you to park your car. As we would prefer that you didn't drive right up to the cache.
Cache is a clear plastic contains with a blue lid.
Have fun and happy geocaching.
The first time finder of this cache was Dave32 and he said "Easy find, needed help from Jr geocacher to reach cache. Had a walk around the bridge while I was there and heard a few colourful conversations over the radio from truck drivers about the width of the bridge.
Left a few pennies. Dave."
