Azenhas do Mar is situated in a
picturesque valley, its white houses perched on the North Slope, is
one of the most appreciated and interesting beaches, with swimming
pools dug out of the rock. The Miradouro das Azenhas do Mar is
built on cliffs that drop fearlessly to the ocean. It is a popular
place both in Summer and Winter, due to the grandeur of the view it
offers. There, you can admire the Atlantic Ocean in all its
splendor and, with a little luck, watch fishing trawlers sail far
away.
Being such a popular spot for
tourists and locals alike, it is virtually impossible to hide a
cache in the centre of this village. Therefore the cache is located
a little further north, just behind the hustle and bustle. However,
please take the time to WALK around and enjoy the place.
The cache:
The cache is now a yellow plastic box with the usual junk inside.
From the cache location you are in for a treat as far as scenery is
concerned. If you choose the right time of the day to go find this
cache, you should be pleased even if you are the world's worse
critic and pessimist.
Please take note of the following:
- You
have to WALK to the cache (no skates, bikes, 4x4's, quads,
etc.)
- Car to cache will take you no more than 10 minutes (2,5 if you're
a mountain goat!)
- Terrain is VERY STEEP so tread carefully!
- Cache is some 30m above mean sea level, do not take chances with
severe weather and high-breaking waves (We don't want to have to
send out the coast guard looking for you near Cape Espichel).
- Place is invariably WINDY! Be careful you have secure footing at
all times.
- Definitely NO KIDS under 10? years old and NO KIDS over a
100!
- NO NIGHT caching recommended.

As Azenhas do Mar, situada num vale pitoresco, com o seu
lindo casario construído na encosta sul é uma das praias mais
apreciadas e interessantes piscinas escavadas na rocha. O Miradouro
das Azenhas do Mar está construído sobre arribas que descem sem
medo até ao Oceano. É um local muito frequentado tanto no Verão
como no Inverno, pela grandiosidade da vista que proporciona. Ali,
pode apreciar-se o Oceano Atlântico em todo o seu esplendor, e, com
um pouco de sorte, ver passar, lá ao longe, navios de
pesca.
Como as Azenhas do Mar são
um local muito popular para ambos os turistas e a população local,
é quase impossível esconder uma cache no centro das Azenhas. Por
este motivo, a cache encontra-se um pouco mais a norte em local
mais pacato e fora dos olhares dos curiosos. No entanto aconselho
vivamente UM PASSEIO pela vila.
A
cache:
Consiste de uma caixa amarela com o conteúdo apropriado para esta
modalidade. Do local da cache terão, com certeza, um panorama
especial dependendo, claro, das condições
atamosféricas.
Atenção ao seguinte:
- Têm de ir a PÉ até à cache (Não tentem ir de patins, mota,
bicicleta, asa delta, etc.)
- O tempo do carro à cache deve rondar os 10 minutos (muito menos
se fores parente de cabra montês).
- O terreno é MUITO ÍNGREME....tenham cuidado (a cache não tem kit
de primeiros socorros!).
- A cache encontra-se a cerca de 30 m acima do nível do mar.
Cuidado com ondas grandes geradas por algum temporal.
- O local é muito VENTOSO! (Os pesos "pluma" que tenham cuidado
para não irem parar ao charco!)
- Definitivamente NÃO para CRIANÇAS abaixo dos 10 anos de idade e
crianças acima dos 100 anos de idade.
- Não recomendado à NOITE!
