1864 upphörde den skyldighet som föreskrev att allmogen skulle hålla vargnät, varggård och varggrop. Det var Magnus Eriksson som införde regeln redan på 1300-talet. Om denna fångstgrop använts för att fånga varg i känner vi inte till men man kan ju alltid fantisera.
