Metal House on the Prarie Traditional Cache
46 Zulu 50: A year ago, we moved to the White Mountains and I'm no longer able to maintain this cache and the others we have in the area. I rode out today found that this cache is indeed missing , so it's being archived. Thanks to all who visited.

The hardest part of finding this cache will be in choosing which is the correct road to take. There are lots of trails in the area, some more difficult than others.
This cache was placed near an old miner's cabin. It was a simple one room shelter with a fireplace. There are adits in the wash, below the cabin.
It appears that there was an earthen dam built in the wash and a spillway constructed to deal with the overflow. Like most desert dams, they fill with sand and gravel in the first big storm.
Most of the roads/trails in this area are best suited for OHVs.
Update-December 2010-
Since this cache was placed, the earthen dam has been breached by some serious flooding and there is now a deep washout north of the Metal House.
