After a long day of puzzle caches, creative micro containers,
and six-stage multicaches, it's always nice to wrap things up with
a great big ammo can stashed in a cool spot. So cool, in fact, that
a group of travel bugs have taken up residence here. They don't
intend to stay long, but just want to linger for a short breather
before heading back into the hustle-bustle of the caching world.
Perhaps you can help them along.
Those who have hunted in the area before for will probably
recall
another cache that once rested nearby. Since it has been
archived and the hiders seem to have dropped out of the game, I
wanted to give everyone a chance to encounter the interesting
sights.
Although this is starting out as a travel bug hotel, no special
rules apply. If you have bugs to trade, great. If you'd like to
drop off a few, cool. Even if you don't have any TBs to trade, feel
free to move some along if you can help them towards a special
goal. And for those with zero interest in travel bugs, you'll find
plenty of nice trade items to keep the young and the young-at-heart
happy.
If you're making a clean sweep of the caches along the Hershey
Park hike-and-bike trail, you can pick this one up as you travel
east or west along the paved pathway. If you're swooping in with
the sole intent of nabbing this cache alone, however, your best bet
for parking is at the coordinates listed below, which will leave
you with a round-trip stroll of around two-thirds of a mile.
You'll be looking for a camouflaged ammo can tucked away above
Horseshoe Slough, a long-abandoned channel of Buffalo Bayou. Use
the hint if you must, but please cover the container completely
once you're finished, as there are signs of occassional muggle
activity in the area. Enjoy the retreat!
