We have no idea how many people are buried here, but there is only one remaining headstone. The cemetery may have once been known as Cash's Crossing Cemetery. There are no great views, creeks, walks or any redeeming attributes. I happened across this small cemetery reserve whilst out driving. It seemed such a sad place...and in particular I feel that poor old Thomas Broad (whoever he may be) deserved to have a visitor or two. All that remains of the early pioneers of the area is his single headstone. The following information has been provided by 'womblywoo' ...see log. "Thomas and his wife Fredericke grew potatoes, pumpkins and corn, they sold this produce at the nearest store (at the corner of Samford and South Pine Road, Alderley). On the 2nd April 1892 Thomas was killed when he was thrown from his cart. He had attempted to drive over fallen trees which lay across Bunya Rd. He was 49 years old. His widow had 11 children between 3 yrs and 26yrs old (including her 2 sons from her 1st marriage). The Qld government set aside 18 acres on Bunya rd as a cemetery reserve in 1873. Thomas was buried here and his headstone though broken over the years has been preserved. It is thought that there are only 11 burials at Bunya Cemetery."
