Peter Garret would be pleased to see this cache site as it generates power and supplies his passion of green energy. The six wind turbines which make up the Wonthaggi wind farm has been operational for a few years now. Access is via CAMPBELL Street (off CAMERON Street). There are 2 gates on the access road (Campbell St) Please close them after you have gone through them. You are able to drive right to the site. Each of the six turbines is capable of producing 2 megawatts of power and sits atop a 69 meter high tower with each blade 40meters in length and 6 tonnes in weight. This farm at full capacity can supply 47% of the Bass Coast Shires energy needs. The cache doesn’t have a pen in it so please bring your own. It has sand and grass on top of it.
