Dogs are truly man’s best friends, and Huntington Beach has become a dog’s best friend. Dog Park and Dog Beach provide areas for dogs to run free. Dog Park provides separate areas for small and large dogs. Dog Beach was created by Martin Senat to provide one mile of golden sands and the exciting Pacific Ocean for dogs and their owners to frolic in the water and taste a sense of freedom--rarely found elsewhere.
This is a two-part cache beginning at the south end of the Dog Park parking lot at coordinates N33.41.907 and W118.00.900. Look for a pet walk of approximately 858 concrete stones containing dog names, footprints and other facts. Search for the stone containing the name of Martin’s dog, KEMPER. Count its row location (whole number = K) from the beginning of the pet walk. For example, if Kemper’s stone is in the 100th row from the beginning, K=100. The cache is located at N33.41.(907-2K+5) and W118.00.(900-4K+12). Be stealthy at the final cache location; muggles are everywhere, walking and hiking, playing with their dogs, bicycling and horseback riding.
The small cache contains:
Log and miniature sharpie
$2 for FTF
Yellow Play-Doh
Miniature green truck
Coleman lantern flashlight key chain
Please be sure to replace as found.
