Geocache Description:

Traditional cache. Forest hide. This cache is being placed specifically to draw attention to the amazing efforts and engineering of a very busy beaver (or two). Walk east to the river from the cache location to see the beaver work on the trees along the bank.

When this cache was placed the beaver(s) had freshly, successfully dropped the northernmost tree. The one in the middle appeard to have been abandoned before completion. The one to the south was about 2/3 done and may have hit the water by the time you arrive. It is facinating to see how these busy little guys do their work. They instinctively know where to work so as to drop the tree just where they want it to land. If, when you arrive to log the cache the southern tree is down, please mention it in your logging. I want to make a trip back out to admire the handiwork. When I was placing the cache (a few trips for good co-ords and a good hidey-spot), there was a lot of fresh chew marks and much sawdust around the base of the trees...amazing. Leaves me thinking about what their teeth must look like and the power they have in their little jaws.

This cache is a cammoed peanut butter jar with a log book, a collection of cache trash (trinkets) and a TB to get it all started. I hope beavers do not like peanut butter...

I like to do this preserve as a bike – N – Hike. Bike the trail close to the cache. Lean the bike against a tree. Hike in to the hide.
