Playing Detectives: Southill

The third hidden in a series of "Playing Detectives" caches. These are designed so that the geocachers will need to undertake some detective work in a town/village before getting the final cache co-ordinates. For geocachers with children, they also incorporate a playground on the route and do not involve very long treks or the need to get back in the car.
For "Playing Detectives: Southill", the detective work will yield figures that give the co-ordinates of the final cache. This one is only a short walk, and the playground is good.
Geocachers in Bedfordshire will be familiar with the name of Southill through the company Southill Sawmills whose roundel can be found on many a timber stile and fence in the county and further afield. Southill is also famous for Southill Park, home of the Whitbread brewing family. The grounds were landscaped by Capability Brown. A view of the park can be seen by travelling along the road from Southill towards Ireland and the A600.
The headline co-ordinates given for the cache are where the playground can be found. We suggest that you park by the playground or in a lay-by opposite the nearby school.
1. From the playground, go to the High Street and find the date on the house on High Street which is at its junction with School Lane (if the year is hard to read, some houses opposite the playground on School Lane also have the same year on them). (abcd)
2. From this house, how far is it to Ireland? (e.fg miles)
3. Back along School Lane, what are the numbers following "DP" on the telegraph pole by the entrance to the playground? (hi)
4. How many groups of chimneys has number 24 School Lane? (j)
5. The last two digits of the letter box number on the nearby post box are what? (km)
The cache (which is small but will take travel bugs) is at N52°0(m-h).(c-a)(i+e)(f+g-d+a) W000°19.(h+i-(2*j/k))(a+b)((e+f+g+a+b)/h).
