Travel bugs, you are invited to visit the Travel Bug Train
Station for a chance to see Amtrak’s Sunset Limited Superliner. It
is very close to Interstate I-10 in north Lake Charles, Louisiana
and street parking is available.
Journey from one coast to another and watch the American
landscape reinvent itself before your eyes.
Amtrak's Sunset Limited takes you between Orlando, Florida
and Los Angeles, California, along America’s southern-most route.
Settle back and watch the Gulf Coast, Louisiana Bayou Country,
Mexican border, southwestern deserts and California mountains pass
by your window.
Three trains depart weekly in each direction. Services on the
Sunset Limited include Superliner Sleeping and Dining Car
accommodations, feature movies in the evening, and spectacular
views from the renowned Sightseer Lounge Car.
If you time your visit accordingly, you may catch a glimpse
of the westbound Sunset Limited passing the Travel Bug Train
Station at 5:08 PM (Mon/Wed/Fri). The eastbound liner passes at
9:34 AM (Tue/Fri/Sun).
Few Lake Charles residents are aware that the local Sunset
Limited Train Station is located at 100 North Ryan Street, just off
the Ryan Street exit from Interstate I-10 in downtown Lake
Charles.
And fewer still have visited the Sunset Limited Travel Bug
Train Station where adventuresome travel bugs begin or end their
cross-country journeys. Your task is to find this station and sign
the logbook. And if you have travel bugs to drop off or swap,
please bring them along to the station. Please, no free rides ...
swapping only!
Travel bugs, all aboard!
