This cache is situated on Kawau Island (catch ferry from Sandspit). Reached via a nice walk from Mansion house bay (approx 2 hr return) or via sea.
Not suitable for young unsupervised cachers. There are deep shafts that you will see are fenced off. I have not seen any others, but still be wary!
The waypoint isn’t the cache location (too hard to get a signal). From the waypoint face north, take 12 paces and search there. The cache is in a 1.5l plastic painted container. (Let us know if the waypoint isn’t correct. We used 2 GPS’ to pinpoint this one, but they both gave different figures??)
Extra tips:
You don’t have to be a Doc to follow the clues.
If you feel Sleepy on the uphill, have a small nap.
Don’t be Bashful, you can do it.
If you’re feeling Dopey, focus on the prize.
Careful around the trees they can make you Sneezy.
Don’t get Grumpy if you can’t find it quickly.
You’ll be so Happy when you locate it.
Be sure to wear shoes when hunting this one and take the time to explore the caves and historical site. Lovely spot, with views to the mainland. Low tide will enable you to explore more. Easier to approach from the top
