Geocache Description:

A gentle walk through Templeton Woods. Boots/wellies may be needed after wet weather! Suitable for buggies in the summer months

Bonnie Dundee, like many of his contemporaries was a member of the Knights Templar. When he died near Urrad during the battle of Killiecrankie he was found to be wearing the Grand Cross of the Order of the Temple, a device dating from before 1307.

Templeton Woods, as the name suggests was once owned by the Knights Templar. It was a traditional training ground for the knights - William Wallace also trained here when he lived in Dundee.

In those times however it was just Templeton, the woods were not planted here until 1810 on the instructions of Robert Duncan the 1st Earl of Camperdown.

There are several paths to explore winding through the woods - we suggest that you waypoint your car!!!!

Clue should help as GPS signal can be very variable in the area.
