Geocache Description:

Ammo container hidden in McKelvie National Forest. Container is NOT VISIBLE. Please re-hide the same way.

This ammo can is hidden in the Steer Creek Campground area of McKelvie National Forest.

This is a beautiful area surrounded by pine trees! There were limited hiding spots as the area is very “clean” so we tried to find a spot that wouldn’t be as frequently visited. It is however somewhat in an open area. It is NOT VISIBLE but when you get there the spot is obvious. Please re-hide with care making it look as natural as possible. The sand is soft there so you may also need to touch up your footsteps.

We parked near one of the “Blue Jay Trail” signs and it was about.28 miles one way from there. The walk is easy until “the hill”. The hill is one of the reasons to re-hide the cache well. I don’t mind the drive out to the forest to maintain the cache but I DON’T WANT TO CLIMB THE HILL VERY OFTEN! :-}

Enjoy the area!
