A straight to cache with access from a number of footpaths and a
permissive path.
Free parking is available in the village car park (behind the
Methodist Church) or on the local roads (please take care not to
block driveways) depending on which route you choose.
This part of the village has a number of deep water filled
ditches nearby so although access is dog, children and buggy
friendly, extra care needs to be taken at the cache site and may
not be one for night cachers. Access is not available for bikes as
there is no bridleway access.
After the cache why not walk a little further and stroll in
Wilstead Woods, a remnant of ancient woodland actively managed by
the Forestry Commission. Although very pleasant today, a gruesome
murder took place in 1919 and remains on the books as an unsolved
case. Details of Wilstead’s history can be found on
www.wilsteadbook.freeuk.com
The cache is a small click and lock tupperware type box marked
with official geocache sticker logos. It contains the usual
assortment of treasures and a logbook.
