NCN NR4 - CC6 Bitton to Bath Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Chaotica_UK: Time to archive, this one has had its fun. It's been problematic and for such a well hidden cache off the beaten track it has attracted some muggles over the years! Thanks to all that have visited. Hope you had fun!

Geocache Description:

This mystery cache has been placed very near to the Bristol - Bath Cycleway, to get the coordinates you need Clue A(GCT17R) and Clue B(GCT188).

This cache has been placed to celebrate what the National Cycle Network really offers. http://www.sustrans.org.uk/

You can get to this cache and all the clues either on foot, cycle and / or part steam train. Parking is either just past the Bird in Hand Pub Saltford (roughly where the false cache co-ords above take you) or you can start at Bitton near the Steam Railway station. Wherever you decide to start, the Bird in Hand Pub does excellent food and a good selection of beers, they are also children friendly and rely on the cycleway passing traffic so plenty of cycle parking spots as well.

As said above - the coordinates above are false - once you have Clue A and Clue B you should have a complete set of coordinates and be able to find this traditional cache about 40 feet off the cycleway in a wood up the slope. However GPS was struggling in the immediate area so Ive added in a good clue. The ammo box has been replaced with a plastic box as the ammo box was stolen.

The plastic box has now also been stolen so a new plastic box has been put in its place in a slightly different position, add just 008 to the westing you get from the final coordinates.
