Trail is hard-packed dirt. Rain will equal mud. Although well
established, it is steep enough to prove a bit hazardous when wet.
A bit of a ways down which means the inevitable climb up again...
[NOTE: February 19th 2006 cache replaced] Cache is camo'd 1L
(rectangular) Lock and Lock. ... No need to leave the path...
hollowed by time... In the place... the heart wood have been.
Please replace with care. ~Redwood notes: This park contains the
largest stand of Redwoods north of California as well as a wide
selection of other trees from around the world. The trees were
planted by two of Surrey's pioneers, David and Peter Brown. These
twin brothers built themselves a two story tree house in which they
lived. ~Note from the cache stasher- I knew a man who served on the
first detachment of RCMP in Surrey. He patrolled this park. I was
told that the boys father was a merchant marine who brought trees
home from his journey's abroad. Reportedly, after the Family
Patriarch died, the boys became less and less friendly with the
ever growing groups of trespassers- drawn to the rich diversity.
Thought I would throw that in there. (Won't find that part noted in
any history books) Enjoy!
