This cache has been put very near where I came across a bird standing in the middle of the country road. It was dark and I had to come to a complete stop. Then the bird turned it's head and stared at my car headlights and I was mesmerized staring into the eyes of THE OWL. Naturally, I, Momma Owl, love Owls so I decided my first letterbox hybrid cache would be an Owl stamp at this spot. My favorite color is red, thus The Red Owl.
Letterboxing does not use a GPS to find the cache. A person will use instructions and sometimes a compass to find the cache. The cache will have a stamp in it that the person can stamp his personal log with and the person will have his own personal stamp to stamp the caches logbook. A letterbox Hybrid combines Letterboxing and Geocaching. The person will use a GPS to find the cache and the cache has a stamp, stamp pad, and logbook. These stay in the cache, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM. The person can sign the caches log with his own personal stamp, his thumb print, and/or his signiture and make comments as usual. Then take the caches stamp and stamp his own log or his hand or his childs hand, etc., then RETURN THE STAMP, etc. into the cache.
You do NOT have to go over the fence. You will be able to sit in the comfort of your car to do the stamping. Please put the cache back exactly as you find it or one of the many people that walk this quiet road will beabe to see it.
