A moment to honor those that gave all and a little chance to be thankful and thoughtful.
Veterans Plaza is one of the original four park sites in Boerne. Many Kendall County residents have answered the call to duty to serve their country in time of war. In 1923 the H. J. Graham family erected a memorial monument near the center of Military Plaza (now Veterans Plaza) honoring men who died as a result of military service during World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. The names of those who gave their lives are listed on the four sides of the monument. Later a bronze sculpture was added to the top of the monument recognizing veterans of the World, Korean, and Vietnam wars. The park and memorial were completely redesigned in 2014 to recognize more service men and women and our Armed Forces.
Call on the Marines if you need help. ( It was with the Marines, it appears to have migrated.)
Hint: Log goes in lid first.
The park is easily accessible for those with disabilities, but assistance will be needed to reach the container.
The four original parks were Main Plaza (GCT5QC), Veterans Park, Roeder Park (GCXGJ5), and Riverside Park (GCW9JG).
Across the street is the historic St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, the first church 1867 and second church 1923.
+ This location is RV FRIENDLY!
